Contentment

Easier said than done right!? 

How much time in your day do you spend wishing you had what someone else has?

Maybe it’s wishing you had a certain gift or talent?

It’s easy to scroll through social media and be pulled into that downward cycle isn’t it?! We all have our gifts/talents and weaknesses. That is exactly how God made us! This is not a surprise to Him. I’m not saying that we should throw in the towel and say “Well I’m not good at that so I’m done”.  There are things we should learn and be taught.

Growth is so important. And I believe God wants us to grow and learn from his teachings he left for us in His word.
But sometimes… I struggle and I fall into imposter syndrome.
That moment when you admire a certain gift/talent that someone else has… and  you decide that the way you are isn’t good enough… and you try to resemble what she does?

Raise of hands? Anyone? Or is it just me?

This helps me when I fall into that spiral:

Do you know how amazing it is that you are even here? 

That you are here reading this? 

I was listening to a podcast by Priscilla Shirer that stirred my soul so deeply.  There is no one on earth like you. We are all so uniquely made. Just like I would tell my children when they were young how each snowflake is different and beautiful just like them. So are you! The world NEEDS you and your gifts. You and your weaknesses. He has you here for a purpose on PURPOSE. 

Why are we so afraid to talk about what we struggle with? What our weaknesses are? I have connected and learned from so many women who have taken the chance and been vulnerable. A goal of mine is to do the same right here. To share my faults. To share those cracks that I have, because in doing so my hope is that God’s amazing grace would shine through.

Contentment: a state of happiness and satisfaction.

One of my goals for myself in 2020 is to pursue contentment in ALL the things. I know this is something easier said than done. But I want to live in a state of happiness and satisfaction! Don’t you!?
